Nick of TCRA has tagged me for a meme. From what I gather I have to tell you eight things about me, that you might not know. So here goes:
1 – I’m going grey. Yes you did read the right. I’m 22 and I’m already going grey, starting in the temples and down the side of my head and ending with the two stripes that are developing in my hair line, which have been coined my badger stripes by Lucie!
2 – When I was about 5 and learning to ride my bike I fell off sideways into the row of rose bushes we had running across the front of our garden!
3 – I’m terrified, and I mean real phobia of Wasps! You would be too if you had been stung in the middle of November by one when you were 8, and then 4 more times since!
4 – I once said I didn’t mind the football team Derby County. I was about 8 or 9 and hadn’t quite realised the rivalry between my team Nottingham Forest and the sheep from down the road!
5 – I really like Geography, gained an A in it at A-level and had I not been so into design would’ve studied it at University.
6 – I can tell the difference between the official Coca Cola and anything pretending to be similar. Or at least I think I can!
7 – I seem to try lots of services on the internet and not really use them. It sometimes feels like I only try them so I can snaffle my name as a signup.
8 – I went through my whole school life without ever being put into detention!
Well there we, go that was actually quite hard to do. I believe I’m supposed to tag some people now, so I’m tagging Shawn because apart from Nick and the guys he tagged, he is the only person I know who reads my blog. Then I’m tagging recent commentors Simon and Rabsteen in the hope I can start to build up some more blogging buddies! Hope you guys don’t mind!
Got an old iBook lying around that you don’t really use? Turn it into a server.
A little while back i was given an iBook with a faulty screen as in not working at all.
Having a hard time just throwing it away i was looking for a way to put it to use though it was a fairly old 500mhz G3 ibook.
Things being as they where i thought the only thing to do was using it as a server though it would mean quite a makeover, but thus the fun.
Techblog has a post demoing some other iPhone designs.
If Apple had held an iPhone design contest, this is what the device could have looked like – iPhone V.2? View more pictures after the break.
Let’s just say I’m glad they didn’t!
To those few people who still use my Feedburner RSS feed, I’m going to be deleting my account at the weekend. To get the RSS feed for my site use this address: http://phil.electricweekend.com/feed
I’ve been avoiding posting the iPhone reviews and what not because I want one so bad, but this had to be posted. It’s being reported that O2 is to win the exclusive deal to sell the iPhone over here in the UK! It should be out before Christmas.
With The Simpsons Movie not far away now, it seems a chain of stores in the US has decked itself out as Apu’s Kqik-E-Mart! From what I can see it looks great!
Shawn Blanc, of The Fight Spot fame, is 26 today. To celebrate he is launching a personal blog at shawnblanc.net. I think it’s a great idea and suggest you go and subscribe and find out what he’s going to be jibbering about over there. Shawn’s a great bloke and a very interesting one as well, so I’m sure it’s going to be a place of many interesting links and articles.

Yesterday marked the end of an era for me. I moved out of my Uni house back home. Yup, I finished University. It was quite a weird feeling. I’ve lived there for the last three years and been blessed to meet and make friends with many incredible people. Not only was it the end of my time at Uni, it was also the end of my time in formal education. Now that’s weird. I’ve never known anything other than going to school or college or uni.
I don’t really know where this post is going to go, I just know I have to write it. The last three years I’ve had some really good times, and made some of the best friends I have ever had. It’s odd to think that these people who I have seen day in day out are no longer going to be around all the time, just to be dropped in on or to just go out for a drink. Not only that but it’s going to feel odd that the 4 guys I shared a house with for the last 2 years are not going to be banging about in the back ground. One of those guys I’ve lived with for the past 3 years and has become a very very good friend. We hope to get a place together, but even that is not certain, and you know what I think thats what makes this whole thing feel so odd. For the vast majority of my 22 years I have known generally what is going to happen next, and now that uni has finished, I don’t.
There are some people who I am really going to miss, I guess they know who they are. They’ve been great friends to me over the last 3 years, and I’m sure they will continue to be good friends. I just want to say thank you for their friendships, thank you for the enjoying the last three years with me, it’s been a lot of fun, gone very quickly, but I wouldn’t change it at all.
I’m going to go now, as well I don’t really know what to say. It’s a weird thing this finishing uni, but I know God will continue to guide me as he has the last 22 years of my life. It’s certainly the end of an era and it was actually quite emotional as I drove past uni for the last time, at least as a student.
